March 2009
The first half term of the new year flew by and we are now looking forward to preparing for Easter and the Spring term! We have had a busy half term continuing with our popular wellie walks and visits to the library bus. Our Chinese Dragon did appear to help us celebrate Chinese New Year and it took a walk to the village school which allowed those who wanted, to become the dragons legs and take it around the playground, they enjoyed this very much!
The snow introduced a different slant on our curriculum at the beginning of February and when able we made the most of taking the inside out as the children had not experienced snow before.
We are holding another WINE AND WISDOM EVENING on Saturday March 14th, the last one was a great success so if you enjoy a good quiz with good food and a “little to drink”, this is the place to be. The doors of the village hall open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start, £5 per person (teams of 4), Cornish Pastie and home made pudding included in the ticket price. To reserve a table call 07914851828 or 241673.
As mentioned before in our write up we are having another Bags2School collection to be in by April 1st. The bags will be available in the village shop or at the Playgroup or simply fill a black bag with any unwanted clothes, bedding or bags and leave it in the porch of The Jays, Lambrook Road or at the village hall during playgroup hours.
Parents with very young babies/children don't forget our Toddler Group on Monday afternoons, come along for a chat with others who are all in the same boat and you will be able to share your worries and experiences! for further information contact the Playgroup on 07765437301.
