Weather doesn't dampen our celebrations

Inspite of the weather the combined Church Fete and St Petroc Caribbean “Picnic” celebrations were an enormous success. Two gazebos were blown over then hastily repaired. Possibly St Petroc may be the Patron Saint of Rain?. Displays of various arts and crafts works were on show in the church, ranging from knitting and furniture, to bee keeping and silverware. New events this year included a Dog Show and Ballon Race. A Few Fete Photos and Video of the Caribbean Picnic

Due to the weather the evening picnic was re-arranged in the Village Hall, Steel Band music, limbo dancing and “the worst” fancy shirt competition. Another excellent community weekend following on from our successful Wacky Olympics last week.

After thought - Someone on the organising Parish Plan committee has suggested next year the theme should possibly be a “Singing in the Rain” party, as in Shepton we seem to be able to enjoy ourselves when its pouring down - those high pavements must be there for a reason!!.
